
Ketterer Named CCSA Swimmer of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Gardner-Webb freshman Elizabeth Ketterer (Chattanooga, Tenn.) has been selected as the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week for meets competed Nov. 12-18.
Ketterer posted two first-place finishes, two third-place finishes,
one sixth-place finish, and two second-place relay finishes that
led her team to a victory at the Davidson Invitational, defeating
six CCSA opponents. In the very first event of the invitational,
Ketterer helped the 800-yard freestyle relay team to a second-place
finish, clocking in at 7:40.35, which is the fifth-best time in
Gardner-Webb history. In her second event, the 1650-yard freestyle,
she surpassed 26 swimmers with a personal-best time of 17:14.65,
beating her previous time by over 15 seconds. In the 200-yard
freestyle she touched the wall at 1:55.50, which was good enough
for third-place and marks the sixth fastest time in school
history.
In the 400-yard individual medley, Ketterer posted a time of 4:39.27, giving her a sixth-place finish. In her next event, the 500-yard freestyle, she improved her previous best-time by two seconds, swimming the race in 5:03.18 to finish ahead of 33 other swimmers and lead in the CCSA's top times. In her last individual race, the 100-yard freestyle, Ketterer clocked in at 53.79, giving her another third-place finish, which is the third-fastest time in school history. In her final event of the day, she took part in the second-place 400-yard free relay race that finished in a time of 3:36.64. Ketterer currently leads the Conference in three events.
Ketterer and the rest of the Bulldogs return to action on Jan. 5
when they travel to Statesboro, Ga., to take on FAMU and Georgia
Southern.
