March 28, 2007 | Track & Field
MACON, Ga. - Sophomore thrower Sarah Wyszynski has been named Atlantic Sun Athlete of the Week for her effort last week in the javelin at the Clemson Relays.
Wyszynski posted a school-record setting throw of 43.10m (138'1") en route to winning the event. A Wilbraham, Mass., native, Wyszynski shattered the school's previous record by nearly eight feet.
The award is Wyszynski's first of the track season. However, she also recorded three Defensive Player of the Week awards during the 2006 women's soccer season.
Wyszynski will look to earn a regional qualifying mark at the
Asics Winthrop Invitational. She and the rest of the Bulldogs start
things off Friday at the two-day meet.
