Gardner-Webb Among Top Teams Nationally

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's and women's swim teams were among the nation's elite programs as both were named to the College Swim Coaches Association of America 2007-08 Academic All-American Teams.
The women's program was once again among the top 10, finishing seventh in Division I. The team's 3.50 GPA marked the seventh time the squad had broken into the top-10 nationally.
The first-year men's program earned a top-40 national ranking, finishing with a combined 3.03 GPA.
With the two combined GPA's from the men's and women's teams, GWU ranked in the top 15 nationally. The school was the top combined program in North Carolina and in the southeast region, amassing a GPA of 3.26.
The Bulldogs open their season Saturday at 9:30 a.m., when they
host VMI and North Carolina A&T.
