BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. Head women's soccer coach Kevin Mounce, in addition to the Gardner-Webb Athletics Department has announced the hiring of former Iowa standout Lindsey Boldt to the coaching staff.
A recent graduate of Iowa, Boldt played for the Hawkeyes for four seasons in goal. She will primarily work with the goalkeepers.
A three-time academic all-Big Ten selection, Boldt comes to GWU after a stellar playing career. During her senior season, Boldt started 13 matches in goal before suffering a season-ending injury. With Boldt in the starting line-up the last two seasons, the Hawkeyes flourished, compiling a 9-3-5 record.
A native of Wauwatosa, Wisc., Boldt brings a wealth of knowledge to GWU after facing some of the toughest competition in the nation.
Boldt has also coached at Iowa City H.S. since April 2007. She has also worked the Soccerplus Camps since 2005 and the FC Milwaukee Summer Camps since 2004.
Boldt earned her degree in communication and sport studies.
