
Gardner-Webb Women's Golf Receives Recognition for Work in the Classroom

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.- The Gardner-Webb Women's Golf Team was
recognized nationally by the National Golf Coaches Association
(NGCA) for its work in the classroom during the 2008-09 academic
year, posting a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.743, which was
fourth in the nation.
The University of Idaho Women's Golf Team was honored as the
recipient of the 2008-2009 NGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award. This
award recognizes the women's collegiate golf program with the
highest collective average team GPA, which includes all of the
team's student-athletes for the 08-09 season. Idaho's seven team
members had an average GPA of 3.780.
Rounding out the top-three was Southwestern University in second
with a team GPA of 3.756 and the University of South Alabama in
third with a team GPA of 3.748.
The NGCA also announced the 25 teams with the highest team GPA.

About the National Golf Coaches Association
The National Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a
non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf
coaches. The NGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college
golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education
and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate
competition. Today, the NGCA represents nearly 500 coaches
throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and
recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they
represent.
