
Gardner-Webb Swimming Falls to UNC Wilmington Saturday Morning

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - In the first meet of the 2010-11 season for the Gardner-Webb men's and women's swim teams, the Runnin' Bulldogs fell to UNC Wilmington Saturday morning at the Gardner-Webb Aquatics Center. The men's team fell by a 158-104 score, while the women's team fell by a 191-71 score.
Gardner-Webb men's swimmers were victorious in five events, with freshman Jordan Denmark leading the way for the Runnin' Bulldogs, timing in first in two events.
The Raleigh, N.C. native led the way in the 100 yard backstroke event, touching the wall at 52.28. He also came in first in the 200 yard IM event, timing in at 1:57.46.
Sophomore Tyler Nuss set a new team record in the 1000 yard freestyle event, touching the wall first at 9:55.28.
Senior George Partin timed in first in the 200 yard freestyle event with a time of 1:44.82, and senior Steven Caudill placed first in the 200 yard butterfly event, touching the wall at 1:54.33.
For the women's team, sophomore Kim Zachensky timed in first in the 200 yard breaststroke event at 2:25.80
Both Gardner-Webb men's and women's teams will next be in action on Friday, November 5th as they travel to Lexington, Va. to take on Washington & Lee, with the meet set to begin at 6:00 PM.
