
Gardner-Webb's Jordan Denmark Named CCSA's Men's Swimmer of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gardner-Webb freshman Jordan Denmark (Raleigh, N.C.) has been selected as the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association's Men's Swimmer of the Week for meets competed Nov. 1-7, it was announced today by the League.
Denmark had six first-place finishes to help the Runnin' Bulldogs earn two dual meet victories last weekend vs. Washington & Lee and VMI. Against Washington & Lee, Denmark was part of the 400-medley relay team that broke an 18-year pool record and season-best CCSA time of 3:28.95. Denmark also won the 200 backstroke, clocking a time of 1:57.45, and was part of the first place 400 free relay (3:13.66). The next day against VMI, Denmark won the 100 fly (53.05) and 100 breaststroke (59.57) and was part of the winning 200 free relay team (1:30.13).
Also nominated for Men's Swimmer of the Week for Week 5: Matthew Sherrier (College of Charleston) and Matt Elliot (VMI).
Gardner-Webb will next be in action Nov. 19-21 as part of the 2010 Georgia Tech Invitational. The three-day meet will take place in Atlanta, Ga.
