
Dustin Porter Competes at 2011 U.S. World Team Trials

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Former Gardner-Webb standout and four-time East Regional Champion and NCAA National Qualifier Dustin Porter competed last week at the 2011 U.S. World Team Trials in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Porter, who received the No. 4 seed in the men's freestyle 120 KG class, suffered a 1-0 and 6-0 loss to Dom Bradley of Sunkist Kids in the quarterfinal round. After receiving a bye in the first consolation round, Porter then took on Jarod Trice in the consolation semifinals bout, falling to Trice 2-0 and 5-0 to end is run at the U.S. World Team Trials.
In the international freestyle rules, in order for a wrestler to win the match, he must win two periods which last two minutes long.
Bradley finished third overall, picking up a 1-0, 1-0 decision win over Trice in the True 3rd on match on Saturday, giving Trice fourth-place overall.
Bradley, who was an NCAA All-American in 2011, placed third at the NCAA National Championships and took first-place at the University Nationals back in March to qualify for the U.S. World Team Trials.
Trice is a two-time All-American, a three-time national qualifier, the 2011 MAC Champion and placed fourth at the 2011 NCAA National Championships as the No. 2 seed at Central Michigan.
