Women's Soccer Takes Senior Day Win

BOILING SPRINGS, NC- The Runnin' Bulldogs open the first half with dominant five-goal opening period carried the Gardner-Webb women's soccer team to a decisive 7-1 victory over Montreat College on Monday afternoon at Greene-Harbison Field. The Runnin' Bulldogs (3-3-1) controlled the tempo throughout, outshooting the Cavaliers 29-5 and holding a 13-2 advantage in corner kicks. Peyton O'Linn paced the offense with four total points, recording a goal and two assists.
The Runnin' Bulldogs maintained control in the second half. Marley Accashian buried a penalty kick in the 62nd minute following a Montreat yellow card, and Madison Reynolds capped the night's scoring at 74:25 off a service from Tuana Gedikli. Liliana Ribeiro got the start in goal for Gardner-Webb, working the first 45 minutes. Lydia Robinson took over in the second half, collecting two saves.
Gardner-Webb will be back in action on Sunday September 13th at 6pm to take on Georgia State.
