Boiling Springs, N.C. - For the 25th consecutive semester, Gardner-Webb's women's swim team has been honored by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), receiving All-Academic status after compiling a team GPA of 3.55 for the 2012 Fall semester.
The Runnin' Bulldogs's 3.55 team GPA tied with the University of Toledo for third highest among NCAA Division I women's swimming teams.
The national academic honor marks the 13th different semester in which Gardner-Webb's women's swimming team has recorded a Top 10 GPA nationally.
Adding to a tremendous year for Gardner-Webb women's swimming, the 3.55 Fall GPA marks the highest since the Runnin' Bulldogs posted nation's best GPA (3.63) during the Fall semester in 2010.
The Runnin' Bulldogs' national recognition comes on the heels of a Top 5 finish at the 2013 Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Championship meet. GWU's women's swim team finished fifth at the CCSA Championship meet, marking the tenth straight Top 5 Conference showing for the successful program.
