GWU Wins 200 Medley Relay While Denman, Bos, & Lile All Compile Top Finishes Against Wingate University

WINGATE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb earned a first-place finish from the quartet of Connor Bos, Jake Ennis, Tyler Gomez, and Nathan Lile, as well as three top individual performances from Luke Denman, Bos, and Lile after day one of dual meet action against Wingate University.
In the first event of the evening the 200 medley relay Bos, Ennis, Gomez, and Lile made very impressive showing finishing in first with a time of 1:32.55.
The Runnin' Bulldogs continued their winning ways in the second event of the evening as the senior Denman took home the top finish in the 1650 free from a time of 16.13.68. Freshman Peter Wakeley also swam well in the event finishing in third (16.27.71).
Bos the junior, from Holland, Michigan, took home the individual win in the fourth event of the evening, the 100 back, finishing at 51.54 Josh Clarke (52.71) and Andrew Linzie (53.68) also swam well in the 100 back finishing fourth and fifth respectively.
The senior Lile continued his strong season finishing first in the 50 free yet again this season, an event he has absolutely dominated this season, Lile also finished second in the 200 free.
Gardner-Webb faired strongly in the 200 butterfly this evening taking the second through sixth place finishes as Gomez (1:57.71), Tate Warden (1:58.57), Andrew Knudson (1:58.64), Wakeley (1:59.81), and Manny Avila (2:01.85) placed respectively, all swimming well in the event.
The Runnin' Bulldogs men's swim team will look to gain ground on the Bulldogs of Wingate University tomorrow morning as they return to Boiling Springs, N.C. to swim in front of a home crowd for the first time this season.
