Gardner-Webb Swimming Shines Outside of The Pool

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.- The Gardner-Webb men's and women's swimming team had six members honored this morning at the 61st Annual Gardner-Webb University Academic Awards Ceremony.
The men's and women's swimming teams continue to strive for excellence and challenge themselves in the classroom each day. This year the Runnin' Bulldog men compiled a 3.38 team GPA ranking 13th among all NCAA Division I Institutions, while the Women's team had the 20th highest GPA among Division I schools with a 3.54 overall average.
Those honored at this morning's ceremony were:
Connor Bos, Junior (Holland, Mich.)- Received the John and Linda Godbold Award
Emily Nordberg, Freshman (Woodbridge, Va.)- Received the First Year Mathematics Achievement Award
April Niccolai, Senior (Napervill, Ill.)- Honored with the prestigious Alfred and Shirley Wampler Caudill Marketing Award
Taylor Schwartz, Senior (Westerville, Ohio)- Received the Psychology Award
Andy Watts, Senior (Sarasota, Fla.)- Received the Healthcare Management Award
Nathan Lile, Senior (Waynesville, N.C.)- Received three awards this morning the Computer Science, M. Vann Murrell Bible, and Philosophy and Theology Awards.
Lile and Schwartz were also recognized earlier this month as both were named by the University to "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges," a very high honor that both deserve.
The Runnin' Bulldogs swim teams have always had high academic standards as a team and will continue to do so as they seek to live out the Gardner-Webb motto, "Pro Deo et Humanitate," (For God and Humanity) in the pool and classroom.
