Volleyball Drops 3-1 Decision To Presbyterian Tuesday Night

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb volleyball team fell 3-1 to Presbyterian on Tuesday evening in Big South Conference action. The Runnin' Bulldogs took the first set by a score of 25-22, but the Blue Hose would take the following three sets by scores of 26-24, 25-23, and 25-18 to win the match.
Gardner-Webb falls to 7-13 overall and 1-6 in Big South play, while Presbyterian improves to 5-15 overall and 2-5 in league action. With the loss, the Runnin' Bulldogs have dropped their last five contests.
The Runnin' Bulldogs hit .168 for the match with 59 kills, while the Blue Hose attacked at a .210 percentage with 43 kills.
Kaelyn Dyson led the Gardner-Webb attack with 16 kills on 32 swings, hitting at a .375 clip. She also had one solo block and three block assists to lead the team. Other GWU attackers to reach double-digit kills were Nicole Celarek with 14 and Keira Moore with 10.
Amanda Sahm had a double-double on the evening, racking up 34 assists and 14 digs. Emma Milstead led GWU with 24 digs on the evening., and Abbey Sprinkle reached had double-digit assists with 13.
Presbyterian was led in kills by Erin Eulitz, who had a match-high 18 kills on 52 attempts, hitting at a .250 percentage. Daley Gosnell had a match-high 26 digs, while Jaclyn Brewington had a match-high 21 assists to go along with two solo blocks and three block assists.
Gardner-Webb returns to the court on Friday, October 13, hosting Charleston Southern at 6:00 pm inside Paul Porter Arena. The match will be broadcast live on the Big South Network (www.bigsouthsports.com).
