Women’s Basketball Earns Spot on WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor Roll

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Gardner-Webb women's basketball program has been recognized for its achievements in the classroom, earning a spot on the 2016-17 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division I Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll.
Gardner-Webb had a team cumulative GPA of 3.560 for the 2016-17 year, which tied for 15th best in the country with fellow Big South Conference member High Point. It was the first time the Runnin' Bulldogs have made the WBCA Academic Top 25 list in program history.
The WBCA recognizes outstanding academic performance of college women's basketball teams through its Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. The top teams in each of the five collegiate divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA and junior/community college – are recognized through this program.

Gardner-Webb opens the 2017-18 season on Friday, November 10, hosting Pfeiffer at 7:00 pm. The Runnin' Bulldogs return their top three scorers from last season in Tierra Huntsman (15.2 ppg), Alexus Hill (9.0 ppg), and Carley Plentovich (6.9 ppg).
