Women’s Basketball Announces 2017-18 Non-Conference Schedule

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb women's basketball team announced its 2017-18 non-conference schedule Monday afternoon, which includes three opponents that earned postseason births in 2016-17.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will open the season on Friday, November 10 at home, hosting Pfeiffer, before hitting the road to take on the University of Kentucky (Nov. 12) in Lexington, Ky. and Morehead State in Morehead, Ky. (Nov. 13) as part of the Matthew Mitchell Classic.
Kentucky earned a birth to the 2017 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament as a No. 4 seed, while Morehead State took part in the 2017 Women's NIT.
GWU will return to the friendly confines of Paul Porter Arena for its next five contests, hosting 2017 Women's NIT participant UCF (Nov. 17), Furman (Nov. 20), Montreat (Nov. 25), USC Upstate (Nov. 28) and Wofford (Dec. 5).
The Runnin' Bulldogs play two more games on the road, at Davidson (Dec. 15) and at Mount St. Mary's (Dec. 17), before wrapping up the non-conference slate at home against Western Carolina (Dec. 28) and Converse (Dec. 30).
The Big South Conference regular season schedule will be announced at a later date.
Gardner-Webb finished the 2016-17 season with a 12-19 overall record, and returns its top three scorers for the upcoming season in Tierra Huntsman (15.2 ppg), Alexus Hill (9.0 ppg) and Carley Plentovich (6.9 ppg).
