Brown, Kleppe Named to United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Second-Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo – The United Soccer Coaches announced its 2018 NCAA Division I All-Southeast Region squad today, which features Gardner-Webb's Keely Brown and Stina Kleppe.
Both players earned Second-Team honors. In all, the USC honored 42 players amongst three All-Southeast Region teams.
Brown (Cincinnati, Ohio / Cincinnati Christian School) stepped foot on campus in 2015 and appeared in all 79 matches over four years en route to a 30-32-14 record in goal. She ended her time as a Runnin' Bulldog as the team's all-time saves leader with 401 stops. Additionally, she is the school record holder for most shutouts with 20, which also places her tied for 10th among Big South Conference athletes. Brown was a First-Team All-Big South Conference member as a senior and also earned All-Tournament recognition from the conference. In three tournament games, she went 2-1 and allowed just one goal while stopping 15 shots. Brown stopped 85 shots in her final season and recorded four clean sheets. Her season-high of 10 saves came in a 2-2 draw against Marshall. Her 1.059 goals against average placed her third in the Big South, while her 85 saves put her fifth among conferences goalies.
Kleppe (Skien, Norway / Dahlske videregaende skole) had a stellar junior season, leading Gardner-Webb in goals (11) and points (28). She also assisted on six goals, which was second to teammate Maddie Turlington who had nine. Kleppe scored a goal in the final four non-conference matches of the season and also tallied two goals in three straight conference victories. Her multi-goal matches came against Campbell, Hampton and in the Big South Quarterfinals against Winthrop. Kleppe scored four game-winning goals and ended the season ranked in the top-five in several categories among Big South athletes. She finished third in both points, points per game and goals. Kleppe ranked fourth in the conference in goals per game, assists, assists per game and game-winning goals.
