Runnin’ Bulldogs Prepare for 2019 Big South Indoor Track and Field Championships

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C – The Gardner-Webb women's indoor track and field team is set to take part in the 2019 Big South Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend.
The Runnin' Bulldogs posted 12 results throughout the regular season that rank among the top-ten among all Big South competitors.
Diviana Forrest led GWU in the 200-meter run, ranking seventh among the Big South with a time of 25.27 seconds, set at the Buccaneer Track and Field Invitational on February 1. She also had the eighth-fastest time in the 400-meter run at 58.76 seconds at the Appalachian Open on November 30.
Hannah Jones ranked tenth in the 800-meter run, timing in at 2:24.84 at the Liberty Kickoff on January 25.
In the high jump, Khalilah Conway had the seventh-best mark of the year at 1.55 meters, set at the Keydet Invitational on January 18.
GWU had a pair of top-five marks in the pole vault, as Karin Sastre ranked fourth at 3.36 meters at the Appalachian Open, and Louis Schmidtgen ranked fifth with a mark of 3.25 meters at the Buccaneer Track and Field Invitational.
Taylor Hotchkiss had the sixth-best result in the long jump at 5.35 meters, set at the Appalachian Open.
In the shot put, Taliyah Wade had the sixth-best toss at 12.67 meters at the Keydet Invitational.
Petra Jakeljic ranked fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 16.87 meters at the Appalachian Open. Cailen Blaire had the eighth-best toss at 14.62 meters at the Buccaneer Track and Field, and Arlease McGee ranked ninth for the year at 13.77 meters at the Keydet Invitational.
GWU also had the sixth-fastest 4x400-meter relay team at 4:03.59, set at the Buccaneer Track and Field Invitational.
The 2019 Big South Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships presented by Musco Sports Lighting and UCS begin on Friday, February 15 and last through Saturday, February 16 at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex on the campus of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.
