Big South Releases 2021 Women’s Soccer Spring Schedule

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Big South Conference released its 2021 soccer schedules on Thursday afternoon, and the women's schedule includes a nine-match slate for each team. Each team will be allowed to play up to two non-conference games starting Sunday, February 14th. The Big South Women's Soccer Championship Semifinals and Finals will be held the week of April 12-18, with those dates to be determined at a later time.
Gardner-Webb Women's Soccer, led by 7th-year head coach Mike Varga, will open the 2021 campaign with a non-conference game on the home turf at Greene-Harbison Stadium on Sunday, February 14th versus Davidson . Gardner-Webb will start the regular season with a home game on the following weekend, Sunday, February 21st against Charleston Southern.
Gardner-Webb's schedule includes home games against Davidson (Feb. 14th), Bob Jones (Feb. 17th), Charleston Southern (Feb. 21st), Presbyterian (March 6th), Radford (March 14th), Campbell (March 28th), and USC Upstate (April 8th). Road games will take place at Longwood (Feb. 28th), High Point (March 10th), Winthrop (March 21st), and UNC Asheville (April 3rd).

Contingencies were built into the schedule to allow flexibility for completing the season in full. Each squad will have a floating mid-week match that will be scheduled during the first half of the season and no later than March 17. Matches scheduled for Sundays can be moved to the previous Friday/Saturday or the following Monday, if necessary.
The top four teams in the final conference standings will advance to the Big South Women's Soccer Championship, which will be hosted by the higher seeded team throughout. The champion receives the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
