
Women’s Soccer Receives Team Academic Award for 2019-20 Season

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The United Soccer Coaches has awarded Gardner-Webb's 2019-20 women's soccer team a recipient of the College Team Academic Award.
On the accomplishment of the team Varga commented, "Achieving the Team Academic Award is something that we strive for on a yearly basis and something for the team to be very proud of."
To earn this award teams must post a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Under head coach Mike Varga, the team posted a grade point average of 3.47.
Varga also touched on the importance of balance, "Maintaining the proper balance between success in the classroom and success on the field is not an easy task and I am fortunate to coach a group of exceptional student-athletes that understand the importance of putting in the work in both areas."
