Women’s Soccer Lands Three On 2021 Big South All-Conference Teams

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University women's soccer team had three members named to the Big South All-Conference teams, announced by the conference office on Thursday.

Maddie Turlington was named Offensive Player of the Year and to First-Team All-Conference. Marina Bradic was named to the Second-Team, and teammate Michaela Stone was named to the All-Academic Team.

Maddie Turlington – Offensive Player of the Year & First-Team All-Conference
Turlington (Roanoke, Texas) is Gardner-Webb's first-ever Offensive Player of the Year honoree during the school's Big South affiliation (since 2008).  She tied for the league-lead with seven goals scored in the 10-match conference season, and was second with 18 points in Big South contests. Turlington added four assists in Big South play, and scored two game-winning goals.  The Sept. 20 Big South Offensive Player of the Week, Turlington finished second overall in the conference in goals scored (9) and points (23).  She also assisted on five scores for the Runnin' Bulldogs, while her three game-winning goals during the regular-season were second-most in the Big South.

Marina Bradic – Second-Team All-Conference
This is the second year in a row that Bradic (Medvedja, Serbia) has earned a spot on the Second-Team All-Conference list for her defensive efforts on the back line for GWU. Bradic has started all 19 games played so far this season. She has accounted for a total of five points (one goal, three assists). Bradics' lone goal this season was the game winner against Alabama State (Sept. 5).

Michaela Stone – All-Academic Team
Stone (Yadkinville, N.C.) was named to the All-Academic Team for her hard work in the classroom. The senior majoring in Biology/Biomedical Sciences boasts an impressive GPA. This season Stone saw action in ten games for the Red & Black, logging just under 200 minutes so far this season.

#6 Gardner-Webb will take on #3 Longwood University on Saturday, October 30 in the first-round of the 2021 Big South Women's Soccer Championship. The match is slated to start at 6 pm in Longwood, Virginia, and the action will stream on ESPN+.
