Gardner-Webb Women’s Soccer Announces 2021 Schedule

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Head Coach Mike Varga, who will enter his 8th year at the helm of the Gardner-Webb Women's Soccer program, announced the 20-game schedule as the team nears the 2021 season.
Half of the Runnin' Bulldogs slate is set to be non-conference matchups, which includes an exhibition match against Liberty on Friday, August 13th. GWU will begin their regular season non-conference action the following week as they take on A10 opponent Davidson on Thursday, August 19th in Davidson, N.C.
The first home game of the regular season is set to take place at Greene-Harbison Stadium on Sunday, August 22nd as the Lady Runnin' Bulldogs will face off against The Citadel.
The 'Dogs will open up Big South Conference play on the home turf against UNC Asheville on Saturday, September 18th. During the unprecedented spring 2021 season, Gardner-Webb took a 2-4 loss to the Bulldogs, and look to flip the switch this upcoming year.
Gardner-Webb's Schedule includes home games against The Citadel (Aug. 22nd), Western Carolina (Aug 29th), Clemson (Sept. 12th), UNC Asheville (Sept. 18th), Winthrop (Sept. 22), Longwood (Oct. 2nd), Hampton (Oct. 9th), and High Point (Oct. 16th). With road games at Liberty (Aug. 13th), Davidson (Aug. 19), Charlotte (Aug. 26th), Jacksonville State (Sept. 3rd), Alabama State (Sept. 5th), Elon (Sept. 9th), S.C. State (Sept. 26th), Radford (Sept. 29th), Charleston Southern (Oct. 6th), Campbell (Oct. 13th), USC Upstate (Oct. 20th), and Presbyterian (Oct. 23rd).

The Big South Women's Soccer Championship will begin on October 30th. With Quarterfinals taking place on Saturday, October 30th, Semifinals on Thursday, November 4th, and the Championship on Sunday, November 7th. The champion receives the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
