Highlanders hang on to second half lead over the ‘Dawgs
RADFORD, Va. – The Gardner-Webb University women's soccer team dropped their Big South contest at Radford University by a final of 1-0 on Saturday evening. Abby Clark and Izzi Lugo generated shots on goal for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
The match remained scoreless during the first 45 minutes. The Highlanders of Radford tallied the lone goal of the contest in the 62nd minute as Amy Swain out them ahead. Gardner-Webb pressed the attack late in the match. Ultimately, Radford held on for the one goal victory. Runnin' Bulldogs shots also came from Julianna Jatkola, Mackenzie Farr, Carina Leal, Alva Jonsson and Megan Gettys.
The Runnin' Bulldogs close out their Big South schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at Winthrop at 6:00 p.m.
