Gardner-Webb Drops Weekend Match at Charleston Southern

‘Dawgs generate six shots on goal in loss
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Charleston Southern University on Saturday night. Six different players put shots on goal for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
The match remained scoreless until the 39th minute as Claire Deangelis struck first for the Buccaneers. CSU added a second goal in the 59th minute to extend their lead to two. Klara Ovefelt, Julia Coval and Mackenzie Farr were able to press the attack for GWU in the first half as they all tallied shots on the goal. The second saw Lea Gossett, Abby Clark and Megan Gettys all record one shot on goal each for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
Gardner-Webb returns home on this Saturday, Oct. 14 as they host UNC Asheville at 4:00 p.m.
