Runnin’ Bulldogs take one of three in weather staggered series against Spartans
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb University softball team fell in their series finale at the University of South Carolina Upstate on Monday evening 5-1. Monday's game was a makeup game to finish the three-game series due to weather on Friday and Sunday the previous weekend.
Gardner-Webb's lone run came across in the first frame with Andrea Lyon singling to left field scoring Annicka McLaughlin.
The Spartans tallied two in the fourth inning and three in the fifth to take the win. Alyssa Kelly got the win, and Andrea Lyon the loss.
Gardner-Webb will return to the field to on Tuesday, April 23 to take on #5 Duke University on the road at 4:00 p.m.
