Runnin’ Bulldogs tally six goals in loss to the Panthers
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University women's lacrosse team was bested by High Point University on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 20-6.
Gardner-Webb tallied their first two goals in the first half of play. Aimie Perino scored unassisted with 7:14 left in the first quarter, and again with 14:14 left in the second quarter off an assist from Alera Cornett.
The Runnin' Bulldogs scored three straight goals in the second half with Ella Currey and Taylor Tobin scoring within 45 seconds of each other to end the third quarter. GWU went on to tally two more in fourth quarter; Rebecca Ferrina with 14:02 remaining, and Alera Cornett at the 2:40 minute mark.
High Point held their lead throughout the second half coming away with the win.
The Runnin' Bulldogs return the field on Saturday, April 6 to host High Point University at 1:00 p.m.
