Women's Soccer Names Medina As Next Assistant Coach

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Now official, head coach Samantha Thomsit and the Gardner-Webb women's soccer program have named Brandon Medina as the program's next assistant coach
Medina arrives at Gardner-Webb following two seasons as an assistant coach at Palm Beach Atlantic University. During his tenure at PBA, Medina helped ignite a turnaround that saw the Sailfish, affer winning just three games combined the two years before his arrival, win seven games just in 2024 alone in a competitive Sunshine State Conference. The Sailfish ended 2024 particularly strong, winning three of the final four games of the campaign including a notable win over Rollins.
Prior to stepping into the coaching ranks, Medina posted a decorated career as a player at the University of West Florida and in the National Premier Soccer League. Medina helped lead West Florida to two NCAA Tournament appearances, winning a Gulf South Conference Tournament title in 2021, while continuing to elevate his career while playing for Pensecola FC for three seasons in between.
Media also brings with him ample experience across amateur coaching, having spent multiple years with both the Colorado Rapids and Coastal Rush youth squads. During his tenure, Media largely worked in on-field training, strength and conditioning and was in charge of program film sessions. This is in addition to his own high performance training organization.
