Carrollton, Ga.-The Gardner-Webb volleyball team battled through four tightly contested sets Friday afternoon, ultimately falling 3-1 (23-25, 23-25, 26-24, 11-25) to the University of West Georgia at The Coliseum.

Gardner-Webb (4-4) showed immense grit in the opening three frames, forcing 32 tie scores and eight lead changes across the match. After dropping the first two sets by identical two-point margins, the Runnin' Bulldogs fought back in extra points to capture the third set 26-24. However, West Georgia (2-5) caught fire offensively in the fourth set to secure the match.

Sarina Galyean led the Runnin' Bulldog attack with 12 kills while hitting .258, adding two block assists and a solo block for a team-high 14.0 points. Peyton Slone joined her in double figures with 10 kills and five digs.
