Katie Field begins her first season with the Gardner-Webbsoftball program after a stellar career at Seminole CommunityCollege and later Atlantic Sun Conference member North Florida.Field, a native of Oviedo, Fla., was a high school standout forJanet Williams at Oviedo H.S., where she earned Player of the Yearhonors. Upon graduating, Field was a two-time all-conferenceselection for the SCC Raiders before playing for UNF. While withthe Ospreys, she played right field and batted .311. Fieldgraduated in the summer of 2007 with a degree in sport management.Field will work primarily with the outfielders while pursuing adegree in the sport science and pedagogy program.
