
Women's Swimming Continues Consistency at Fall Frenzy Invitational

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Two individual third-place finishes from Tessa Walsh and Lili Toth highlighted day two of the Fall Frenzy Invitational while Gardner-Webb added another third-place in the last event of the day the 800 free relay.
The freshman Walsh picked up her high finish in the 100 fly coming in with a time of 57.46, while teammates Emily Nordberg (58.38), Christina Clayton (58.45), and April Niccolai (59.03) finished in sixth-eighth respectively for the event.
Toth, the sophomore for Erd, Hungary, tabbed her third-place finish in the 100 breast finishing with a time of 1:03.61. Just off her pace were Whitney Peters in fifth with a time off 1:04.12 and Anna Banick who with a time of 1:04.85 earned seventh.
In the 400 IM London Schumacher continued to swim well this season as she swam to a time of 4:21. 41 earning her a fourth-place finish. Carol Zangla finished sixth in the event swimming 4:30.43 and just behind her in seventh was Miranda Johns with a time of 4:32.93. Mackenzie Ropka picked up the first place finish in the 400 IM "B" final being the first to touch with a time of 4:32.50.
The Runnin' Bulldogs were also able to gain some ground this evening from their relay teams. The 200 medley relay kicked off the finals session this evening and saw GWU claim both the fourth and seventh place positions. Toth, Peters, Walsh and Williams combined efforts to swim a 1:46.80, while Taylor Schwartz, Banick, Nordberg, and Clayton finished with a time of 1:49.48.
Garnder-Webb would close out well in the 800 free relay as Ropka, Adel Kiss, Zangla, and Lauren Oglesby took home third-place (7:39.85), as Schwartz, Williams, Schumacher, and Clayton finished in sixth (7:45.75)
The Runnin' Bulldogs will resume the Fall Frenzy Invitational Sunday morning with preliminaries at 10:30 a.m. The three-day event concludes Sunday afternoon with finals at 5 p.m.
