Offseason Update: 12 Runnin’ Bulldogs Take Part In Collegiate Wooden Bat Leagues Throughout The East

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Summer collegiate wooden bat leagues are in full swing across the country, with twelve Runnin' Bulldogs competing throughout the eastern seaboard.
CAPE COD BASEBALL LEAGUE (CCBL)
Brewster Whitecaps (2-2)
Justin Kunz is batting .333 with one double in two games thus far behind the plate for the Whitecaps.
COASTAL PLAIN LEAGUE (CPL)
Asheboro Copperheads (3-11)
The duo of Mason Fox and Patrick Morton has earned all three wins on the mound for the Copperheads. Fox has a 2-0 record with a 5.79 ERA in 4.2 innings of work with eight strikeouts. Morton is 1-0 on the year, posting a 7.20 ERA in 5.0 innings with four strikeouts.
Lexington County Blowfish (4-15)
Mickey Dugan has collected seven base hits thus far in ten contests for the Blowfish. He has one triple and one home run on the season, and has driven in five runs.
SOUTHERN COLLEGIATE BASEBALL LEAGUE (SCBL)
Carolina Vipers (9-6)
Chris Clary among the SCBL leaders in several batting categories, ranking third in batting average at .412, while leading the league with a .574 on-base percentage and ranks second in slugging percentage at .794. In 12 games, he has totaled 14 hits with four doubles, three home runs, and 12 RBI for the Vipers.
Peyton McGuire is batting .263 for the Vipers in six games, with three doubles and three RBI. He had also made two appearances on the mound, allowing no runs in 4.0 innings of work with four strikeouts.
Chase Lane has played in 12 contests, tallying five base hits, including a pair of doubles and one home run while driving in six runs.
Lake Norman Copperheads (6-7)
Langdon Wilson leads the SCBL in strikeouts, fanning 23 batters in 12.2 innings on the mound for the Copperheads. He has a 2-0 record with a 2.13 ERA, fourth-best in the league, in three starts.
JD Huggins has played in 12 games for the Copperheads, collecting seven base hits with two doubles and a home run, and has nine RBI on the year.

Carey Spratlin has made two appearances on the mound for the Piedmont Pride, having a 0-1 record with a 10.80 ERA in 3.1 innings of work with a pair of strikeouts.
Taylor Goodwin has tossed one inning for the Pride, striking out all three batters he faced as part of a 4-0 win over the Concord Athletics on June 4.
