
Corey Howard, Chris Clary Earn 2018 NCCSIA Baseball All-State Honors

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The junior duo of Corey Howard and Chris Clary were named to the 2018 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) All-State University Division Baseball Second Team, as announced on Monday afternoon.
Howard (Silver Spring, Md. / Georgetown Prep) finished the 2018 season by posting a team-best .347 batting average, playing in all 58 games with 15 doubles, one triple, and a pair of home runs.
Howard drove in 34 runs throughout the year with a .449 slugging percentage and a team-leading .421 on-base percentage, reaching base in each of the final 32 games of the season.
Clary (Gaffney, S.C. / Gaffney HS) enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2018, batting .322 with six doubles, one triple, and eight home runs, while taking part in 50 contests.
The junior outfielder posted a team-best .537 slugging percentage and had a .414 on-base percentage, while also showing his speed on the base paths, swiping 20 bags throughout the year.
Nominations were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals and voted on by NCCSIA members.
Founded in 2002, the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.
NCCSIA selects all-state teams in the University (Division I) and College (Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, softball and baseball.
