Gardner-Webb Baseball Finalizes Fall 2019 Schedule

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – With the completion of upgrades at Bill Masters Field at John Henry Moss Stadium, the Gardner-Webb baseball team has finalized its fall 2019 schedule, which includes a pair of scrimmages against outside competition.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will host their first practice on the new playing surface of Bill Masters Field at John Henry Moss Stadium this afternoon. New field turf now covers the outfield, part of series of facility upgrades taking place this season, which includes expanded bullpens and locker room/team room renovations. The squad has held its practices thus far this fall at nearby Crest High School.
Gardner-Webb will host its first of two scrimmages against outside competition on Saturday, October 26 at 1:00 pm against Florence Darlington Tech. The second scrimmage will be held on Wednesday, October 30, as GWU hosts Limestone in conjunction with the team's annual Scout Day.
Six intersquad games are on tap for the 'Dogs, including the annual Red/Black World Series. Intersquad bouts will take place November 1, 3 and 8 and the Red/Black World Series is slated for November 9, 15, and 16.
The Diamond 'Dogs will also take part in various community service projects this fall, as the team recently took part in a local Habitat for Humanity project on September 28 (as pictured), and will be volunteering on October 29 and November 5 in a pair of events for the YMCA.
