Isaac Campbell Earns Big South Relief Pitcher of the Week Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb senior left-handed pitcher Isaac Campbell was named the Big South Conference Relief Pitcher of the Week for games played May 10-16, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Campbell (Advance, N.C. / Davie County HS) earned two saves in a pair of appearances against UNC Asheville this past weekend. Friday evening, he worked the final two innings, scattering two base hits with a pair of strikeouts to seal GWU's 7-6 win. Saturday, he needed just six pitches to record three outs in the ninth to save the Runnin' Bulldogs 8-7 victory.
This week's award was the second of the season for Campbell, as he was named the Big South's top reliever on April 12.
Gardner-Webb (26-19, 25-11 Big South) enters the final week of the regular season by taking on Winthrop at 3:00 pm in Rock Hill, S.C on Tuesday afternoon before hosting Radford in a three-game series beginning on Thursday, May 20 at 5:00 pm.
