GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced its 2021 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region teams Wednesday afternoon, with Gardner-Webb's Patrick Ferguson and Mason Miller earning spots on the Atlantic All-Region Second Team.
 
Ferguson (North Huntingdon, Pa. / Pittsburgh Central Catholic) earned a spot as designated hitter, in which he started 44 games in 2021.  For the season, Ferguson batted .299 and tied for the team lead with 15 home runs.  He led the Runnin' Bulldogs with 51 RBI and a .650 slugging percentage and had 14 games with multiple RBI.   He tied for third in the Big South Conference in home runs and ranked fifth in RBI and seventh in walks (32).  Ferguson also earned First Team All-Big South honors.
 
Miller (Bethel Park, Pa. / Bethel Park HS) was selected as a starting pitcher, in which he posted an 8-1 record in 14 starts.  Miller led the Runnin' Bulldogs with a 3.30 ERA in 92.2 innings of work, fanning 121 batters while issuing just 30 walks.  The right-hander held batters to a Big South low .210 batting average while also leading the league in strikeouts and strikeouts looking (37).  Miller was also named First Team All-Big South.
 
The 2021 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. I All-America Committee, which is chaired by Tommy Raffo of Arkansas State University.
