Gardner-Webb Volleyball Announces 2021 Schedule

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb volleyball team has set its 2021 fall schedule, featuring three early season tournaments and eight home contests, as announced by GWU head coach Eric Plunkett Thursday.
The Runnin' Bulldogs open the 2021 slate in Jacksonville, Ala at the Gamecock Classic on August 27, taking on tournament host Jacksonville State at noon. The next day, GWU faces Middle Tennessee and Alabama State.
GWU travels to Clemson the following weekend, taking on the Tigers on September 5 at 4:00 pm.
Gardner-Webb steps back into tournament play the next weekend at the Wofford Invitational, facing North Alabama and Wofford on September 11 before wrapping up the tourney the following afternoon against South Carolina State.
The 'Dogs wrap up tournament action the next weekend at the Pirate Invitational, taking on host East Carolina and Appalachian State on September 17 and UTRGV the next afternoon.
GWU hosts its first home match of the season on September 21, opening Big South Conference play against Radford at 6:00 pm inside Paul Porter Arena, opening a four-match home stand that includes action against league foes Winthrop (9/24), Charleston Southern (10/1) and Presbyterian (10/2).
The Runnin' Bulldogs hit the road on October 8, taking on UNC Asheville and remain on the road the following afternoon at USC Upstate.
Gardner-Webb returns home for a pair of matches against Hampton (10/15) and Campbell (10/16) before taking on Big South newcomer North Carolina A&T (10/22) and defending champion High Point (10/23) on the road.
GWU closes its home slate with of bouts against USC Upstate on October 29 and UNC Asheville on October 30.
The 'Dogs wrap up the regular season with a four-match road trip, starting November 5 at Presbyterian. GWU will take on Charleston Southern (11/6), Winthrop (11/9) and Radford (11/13) to close the 2021 regular season slate.
The top-six finishers in the regular season standings will take part in the 2021 Big South Conference Volleyball Championship, taking part November 19-21 in Buies Creek, N.C.
