INTERVIEW: Mason Miller Prepares for MLB Draft

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - With the 2021 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft approaching, Gardner-Webb pitcher Mason Miller joined Phil Constantino to discuss his unique backstory and unlikely path to professional baseball.
Miller, a Godbold School of Business MBA graduate ('21), is currently rated No. 151 in ESPN's prospect rankings and No. 161 by MLB.com. In his lone season with the Runnin' Bulldogs, Miller posted an 8-1 record in 15 appearances with a 3.30 ERA and a league-best 121 strikeouts. As the team's Friday night starter, Miller earned first-team all-conference honors leading Gardner-Webb to a 29-23 overall record, the highest Big South winning percentage in program history, and an appearance in the 2021 Hardee's Big South Conference Baseball Championship.
The MLB Draft begins on Sunday, July 11, at 7 p.m. The first round will be televised on ESPN and MLB Network.
