BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb tangled with in-state foe UNC Greensboro Tuesday night, falling 7-3 on Bill Masters Field.

Peter Capobianco got things started in the second when he was plunked on the hand and moved all the way to third on a Bo Rusher III single through the right side. Alec Burns ripped a ball to left for a sacrifice fly – cutting the Spartans' (7-6) led to 2-1.
Gardner-Webb rallied again in the third, with Nick Capozzi leading off with a single up the middle. A sacrifice bunt moved Capozzi to second and Curtis Robison tied the game with a sharp single to center.
UNCG took the lead for good with a surge in the fourth, scoring four runs (one earned) on four hits and an error.
