BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University baseball team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2025 season. In total, the Runnin' Bulldogs will play 56 games, including a 24-game slate within the Big South Conference.
Season ticket packages will be available as the campaign draws closer.
"The 2025 schedule is of one, if not the most challenging slate in my tenure at Gardner-Webb", said head coach Jim Chester. "We have 12 games against programs that appeared in 2024 NCAA Regionals. We will be challenged in every way, and that is exactly the way we want it! This group has worked tirelessly for this test, and opening day can't get here soon enough! Sko Dawgs!"
Gardner-Webb opens its season on Friday, February 14 as it hosts St. Bonaventure in a four-game set at John Henry Moss Stadium. Davidson will come to town for a single game on February 18, followed by four straight against Division I newcomer Mercyhurst starting February 21.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will then become road warriors as they play their next five games away from home, beginning with SEC power South Carolina February 25. A trip to Boone, N.C. to face App State will take place on March 1-2 before a neutral site contest with East Carolina calls on March 4 in Durham, N.C.
Chester's team will return to the friendly confines of Bill Masters Field for seven consecutive. Youngstown State visits Boiling Springs March 7-9 before a quick ballgame with Western Carolina on March 11. That contest marks the first of three matchups with the Catamounts.
GWU then opens Big South action against UNC Asheville on March 14-16 followed by the first of five against ACC schools, starting at Georgia Tech on March 18. The 'Dawgs will visit Presbyterian for a three-game series on March 21-23, then a single game at Davidson March 25.
Longwood will play host to the Runnin' Bulldogs March 29-30 before a stop in Chapel Hill, N.C. pits GWU against North Carolina. A weekend twist with Western looms April 4-6 with each team hosting a game while playing a neutral site contest at Legion Field in Shelby, N.C.
Back-to-back single game sets at Charlotte (Apr. 8) and Clemson (Apr. 9) will bring the Runnin' Bulldogs back home for three games against Redford April 11-13. Gardner-Webb will face Campbell in Buies Creek, N.C. April 15 before a trio of contests at Winthrop April 17-19.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will make a return trip back to Durham, this time to face the Blue Devils of Duke on April 22 followed by three at home versus Upstate April 25-27.
Gardner-Webb will then embark on a season-long eight-game road stretch beginning with Western Carolina April 29 before a huge three-game series at Wake Forest takes place on May 3-4 with the two teams playing a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.
GWU closes out the road trip with a three-game series at High Point May 9-11 before returning home May 15-17 for the final three games of the regular season.
The Big South Conference Baseball Championship will take place May 21-24 at Truist Point in High Point, N.C.
