Team Cam and Curt Take Game One of 2024 Dawg Bone World Series
November 07, 2024 | Baseball
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Drew Ripepi blasted a solo homerun in the bottom of the second inning while Gavin Johnson added a two-RBI single in the third as team Cam and Curt took game one of the Dawg Bone World Series on Thursday, November 7.
After team Cam and Curt built a 3-0 lead, Patrick Niehus cut the deficit to 3-2 for team Tom and Tripp with a two-run single. However, Matt Ilgenfritz of team Cam and Curt blew things wide open in the bottom of the six with a two-run double, ballooning the score to 6-2.
That would be all the insurance Devin Pressley needed as he came in the top of the seventh and retired team Tom and Tripp in order.
Reid Bertram provided a stellar outing for team Cam and Curt, tossing three innings while scattering three hits with no runs. Pressley was dominant in his 2.0 innings, not allowing a hit and striking out a pair.
Merik Carter went 2-for-2 at the dish for team Tom and Tripp while Niehus provided the lone RBIs on the day. Ethan Liao added a double in the efforts. On the mound, Burton Rawlings went 1.2 innings while recording two punchouts.
The Dawg Bone World Series will resume tomorrow afternoon with game two starting at 3:45 p.m.
