Runnin’ Bulldogs drop home contest to River Hawks
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University women's lacrosse team fell to the River Hawks of the University of Massachusetts Lowell on Wednesday afternoon by a final score of 21-2. Ella Currey and Aimie Perino scored for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
UMass Lowell built a 10-goal lead over the first two quarters. With 3:28 left in the first half, Currey found the back of the net for the Runnin' Bulldogs. The River Hawks were able to add three more before the break. The second half saw UMass Lowell add to their lead until GWU was able to add one more to the total in the final 17 seconds of the game off the stick of Perino.
The Runnin' Bulldogs return to the field on Saturday, March 9 to host the University of Akron at 1:00 p.m.
