Runnin’ Bulldogs Showing Out in Summer League Baseball

A number of GWU players are making positive contributions to their summer league baseball clubs
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – With the summer league baseball season at its halfway point, a number of Gardner-Webb players are having a positive influence on their respective clubs.
Ethan Liao is with the Walnut Creek Crawdads of the California Collegiate League. He has tallied 16 hits including a pair of home runs along with eight RBIs, seven walks and a stolen base while batting .372.
Ethan Rossow is with the Jackson Rockabillys of the Prospect League. He is batting .349 with 15 hits, 11 RBIs, nine walks, and five stolen bases.
Patrick Niehus is with the D.C. Grays of the Cal Ripken Collegiate League. He is batting .318 with 14 hits, 13 RBIs and seven walks.
Marco Lopez is with the Elite Squad of the Collegiate League of the Palm Beaches. He is batting .277 with 13 hits, seven RBIs, six walks and a stolen base.
Meanwhile a trio of 'Dawgs have been making strides on the mound. Jerek Hobb is with the Burlington Sock Puppets of the Appalachian League. He has an ERA of 1.50 with nine strikeouts over 6.0 innings pitched.
Will Franklin is with the Bellingham Bells of the West Coastal League where he has posted an ERA of 3.50. He has racked up 16 strikeouts over 18 innings pitched.
Burton Rawlings in with the Uwaharie Wampus Cats of the Southern Collegiate Baseball League. He has recorded 23 strikeouts over 13.0 innings pitched.
