
GWU Baseball Alums Producing Stellar Professional League Numbers

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Recent Gardner-Webb baseball alums Jacob McCaskey and Mark Black are impressing at the next level as summer leagues are in full swing across the country.
McCaskey, a member of the Washington Wildthings of the Frontier League is putting together a stellar season after seeing action in 14 games while holding a solid 1.38 earned run average. In his 13.0 innings pitched, McCaskey has allowed only 10 hits to go along with 14 strikeouts. The Tarentum, Pa. native has also recorded four saves on the year.
Black, recently signing with the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars of the Atlantic League, hit the ground running after smashing a homerun in his debut with the club, a three-run shot in a 7-6 win over Charleston on June 21. Black has also drawn a pair of walks in just two games for Hagerstown.
