
Dixon Earns Second Big South Defensive Player of The Week Award

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - After leading the Gardner-Webb women's soccer team to its first league victory of the season, senior goalkeeper Savannah Dixon has been named Big South Defensive Player of The Week for the second time this campaign
Dixon recorded seven saves and her first clean sheet of the season in Gardner-Webb's 1-0 win over Presbyterian on Wednesday night. The senior from Raleigh, N.C. faced 16 shots, making two saves in the first half and five in the second, including four in the final 20 minutes that allowed the Runnin' Bulldogs to win it with a late goal. Dixon played the full 90 minutes in goal, also pitching her first career shutout as the Runnin' Bulldogs starter.
The Runnin' Bulldogs return to action this week, hosting Winthrop on October 1st at 6 pm in another Big South Conference contest
