- The Runnin' Bulldogs are coming off a tight 1-0 win against Presbyterian last Wednesday night, finding the winning goal in the 79th minute
- Junior forward Olivia Tribolet leads Gardner-Webb in goals and points, with three goals, one assist, and seven points this season
- Freshman forward Ila Allred is also among the team's highest scorers with two goals and four points so far
- In terms of minutes, redshirt junior midfielder Peyton Bryant leads all outfield players for Gardner-Webb with 843 played
- In goal, senior goalkeeper Savannah Dixon has played all but 30 minutes this season, making 56 saves, tops in the Big South Conference where she's also seventh in the league with a 0.747% save percentage
- Senior defender Camila Lezcano is expected to make her 68th appearance for Gardner-Webb on Wednesday night, the most for the team
- Graduate forward Annie Slovak will make her 72nd collegiate appearance on Wednesday night, between 61 at Liberty previously and now 11 at Gardner-Webb. Slovak has played at least 29 minutes off the bench in every game this fall and scored the winning goal in last week's contest
- Gardner-Webb has won two of the last three match-ups in the series, scoring victories last season in Boiling Springs and in 2022 in Rock Hill
WINTHROP NOTES
- The Eagles were picked eighth in the Big South preseason poll after finishing 2024 with a 3-7-4 record, 0-3-4 in league play
- Winthrop has two wins so far this season, coming against Southern Wesleyan and The Citadel, both at home
- To open Big South play, the Eagles fell 3-2 against defending league champions USC Upstate and 1-0 at Charleston Southern
- Winthrop has been shutout in six of its 10 games this season, including a pair of 0-0 draws
- The Eagles are the league's lowest scorers with five goals this season, but have conceded just above one goal per game, with only 11 in 10 games played
- Winthrop is among the least penalized teams in the Big South Conference, with only five yellow cards to this point in the campaign
