Women’s Soccer Receives Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award from United Soccer Coaches

KANSAS CITY, Mo — Head Coach Mike Varga's Runnin' Bulldogs women's soccer squad received the Bronze Level Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award from the United Soccer Coaches.
The USC recognized 167 teams for fair play and behavior and adherence to the rules of soccer.
Seven college teams were recognized at the platinum level for going the entire 2018 season without having a coach or played receive a yellow or red card. Teams were also honored with the gold, silver and bronze awards. The awards are based on a percentage that takes into account the number of cards received by all team members compared to the total number of games played.
Gardner-Webb was one of 23 teams to be recognized at the bronze level. The Winthrop Eagles women's team was the only other Big South squad honored.
